In the old days, kids thought it was funny to write “wash me” in the dust on the trunk of a dirty car. Not surprisingly, that message lasted past numerous car washes because ,in fact, that finger writing accomplished about a fine 500 grit sanding of the paint finish and so even upon being cleaning ,the note sanded into the finish survived .

I hope your love note does not suffer the same as the aforementioned vehicle

But on the bright side , it’s nice to know “love” can endure if one’s touch is appropriate

Both of your featured boats in this article are lovely. Bayfield yachts always look distinctive with their "narwhal" molded-in prow. The flag blue Cape Dory cutter reminds me of summers on Linekin Bay.
